Current music:September--Green Day (in my head)

Life changes and goes on...
Thursday was my last day of working at the studio...and yes, I did cry when I left. It's pretty neat, though, to be sad when you leave a place of employment, isn't it? My bosses Linda and JR took me out to lunch at a Japanese Sushi bar on Tuesday and gave me a nice going away present (aka cash!) and told me how much they're going to miss me. *sniff* It was such fun working there! I already miss my students.

And last night I attended a good friends' wedding...and realize that my own is only 35 days away. Yikes! Where has the time gone? Can it possibly be September already??

I had my first bridal shower last Sunday and it was quite fun! There were sooooo many people there, and not everyone that I invited even showed up! I received tons of knives, so if anyone is wondering, I'm very well off in that area. ;) Target isn't doing a very good job keeping up with the registry, for some reason, and I've been getting a lot of duplicates. But it doesn't much matter, because I can return them anyway, so it's all good. :)

And my dress is coming along! I'm nearly finished with it, as a matter of fact. :) During the time I was beading the bodice, I seriously thought that I was insane to be making my own dress. (I'm still not entirely convinced I'm not...) But it's shaping up to look pretty good, so I'm okay with it so far. :)

Life is so wonderful, my family is so wonderful, and most of all, Wesley is so wonderful. He puts up with my many moods and helps me to learn how to be a better woman and help-meet to him. I am constantly amazed at how patient he is...and how little I deserve him. But I think I'll keep him, anyway. :)

Well, housework and hemming call. More updates soon, I hope!

A word of advice on the Target returns... either do them before the wedding or as soon as possibly afterwards. If you delay in returning them, even when you have a receipt, they won't accept any returns after 90 days. The best you could do is to get credit for the department the item comes for - that's it. We lost a few items during the move and I just found them and tried to return them - with the gift receipt and registry in hand. But no, they won't do it. I was not happy.

Oh, thanks, Shelley! That's really good to know, since I'm getting ready to box up my shower stuff and haul it up to Weatherford this weekend. I'll make sure that I don't want to return anything before I do!

The duplicate items probably has less to do with Target and more to do with the people buying them. I've noticed that a lot of people don't know how to use the registries properly; they buy stuff off of them but then don't have the cashier take them off the registry, so when the next person comes along looking to buy you something, the item that was just purchased still shows up as available to buy. :P

Yeah, you're probably right. But some things that people bought from the registry aren't even showing up! Weird. I have two crockpots right now, and I know definitely that there are two more on the way! :) Fun, fun. :)

LOL. That's really weird! I guess you'll be able to cook for your family, and both your side and his side, with four crock pots! ;)

Hah! I think I might be just slightly wicked and return at least two of them...what do you think?? ;)

LOL. Yes, I think that would be a safe/wise move. ;)
